For the past few weeks, Mary Strachan had been giving food to a stray cat in Ardersier, a place near Inverness. However, one day she was horrified to find out that the poor feline had been trapped for almost two months! The snare had caused severe damage to the cat’s body, almost cutting it in half. The images of the harm inflicted are truly disturbing and depict how cruel this trap can be.
Following a surgery that lasted for thirty minutes, Squire the cat’s slimmer waistline caused by the trap’s tight grip can now be seen. Mary, who is a council worker aged 48, revealed that the feline was extremely scared and did not allow anyone to come near him. After almost a week of trying, Mary finally caught the cat, but it was only after seeing the pictures of his condition on social media that she realized how serious the situation was. This made her cry. Squire, who is black and white, is currently being taken care of by Inverness Cat Rescue after the successful operation to free him from the trap.
The cat that was saved from the wire got the nickname ‘Squire’ from the people who rescued it. They even took a snapshot of it before releasing it.
Squire, the courageous feline, has successfully overcome a terrifying two-month long ordeal and is now in good health. Recently released pictures depict the poor cat with a snare tightly wrapped around his belly, causing severe wounds and a permanent pinched waist. This type of trap is commonly used to capture animals, but it had caused immense suffering to Squire, who is estimated to be between two to three years old. Heather Swinton Raven, the owner of Inverness Cat Rescue, informed that the vet had determined that the snare had been wrapped around Squire’s waist for eight weeks. It’s nothing short of a miracle that Squire survived this long, given how tightly the snare was gripping his body. If Squire had tried to escape the trap, it could have constricted him even further, making the situation even worse.
Heather Swinton Raven, who is 62 years old, has developed a deep affection for felines and has become an advocate for their welfare. She recently came to the rescue of a cat named Squire when he was in harm’s way, and she now cherishes him as her own.
Unfortunately, the cat got entangled in a wire that had wrapped around its midsection, causing a severe wound to its abdomen. Luckily, during anesthesia, the wire was removed without requiring stitches. Heather reported that the cat’s general health was good.
