Even though Augustus faced numerous challenges to care for a tiny kitten, who was barely three months old, he did not let those difficulties dampen his enthusiasm for life.
It must have been a nightmare for such a young feline to endure the trauma of getting hit by a car followed by having one of his legs amputated. Nonetheless, Augustus is a remarkable cat who possesses an indomitable spirit and exudes joy and liveliness despite his ordeal, according to a heart-warming story shared by the Eastern Daily Press.
The unfortunate incident that led to Augustus losing his paw took place in Norfolk, England. However, he was lucky to have received prompt medical attention from caring veterinarians who nursed him back to health.
The 3-month-old kitten suffered severe injuries including a fractured jaw, broken tail and a damaged front leg that required amputation. After undergoing two surgeries to repair his jaw, remove part of his tail and amputate the leg, Augustus adapted quickly to life on three legs. Despite the trauma of his accident, the feline remained full of life and was seen playing carefree just 10 days post-operation. Thanks to Cats Protection Down Market, Augustus found a forever home just two months after his accident where he was renamed Cat King Cole and welcomed by his feline sister Trinity. Months later, his new owners shared photos of him happy and healthy, weighing in at 3kg and with a big personality.
