AnimalLuvr’s Dream Rescue volunteer, Nadija, received a call regarding a malnourished kitten that had been lurking outside someone’s house. The poor little feline was in bad shape with its face covered in crust and barely any meat on her bones. Nadija sprang into action and rushed to the location, hoping to get the kitten to an emergency vet. However, the shy stray kept eluding the rescuers by hiding in different spots. Finally, after much persistence, they managed to bring the kitten to safety.
I engaged in a game of tag for a brief moment before I remembered a video on YouTube featuring a mother cat meowing. As soon as I played it, the little kitten came running towards me, meowing back joyfully. It was like she mistook me for another kitty or her mother calling for her. I picked her up and took her to the emergency room. During the ride, she kept kneading and making biscuits in her carrier, eventually flopping over for some cozy cuddles.
Rue, the little feline, was facing a number of health complications including an upper respiratory infection and an eye infection. She was also dehydrated and experiencing some gastrointestinal issues. Despite her discomfort and being in an unfamiliar environment surrounded by unfamiliar faces, Rue remained cheerful and content, kneading away at her imaginary dough as she received round-the-clock care at the eR.
The following day, Rue’s spirits lifted, and she began to consume her medication and meals with enthusiasm. Nadija, her acquaintance, paid her a visit and escorted her to her foster home, much to Rue’s delight. “Rue was snuggling and even engaging in playtime, which indicated that she was on the road to recovery,” Nadija recounted.
Gradually, Rue developed a positive attitude towards coexisting with humans in the cozy atmosphere of a caring household. Her facial crust vanished, allowing her to breathe with ease, and her vitality skyrocketed.
She also found delight in playing with toys and became accustomed to the comfort of being indoors. As a result, Rue became less anxious and more at ease.
Initially, the little feline was quite meek, introverted and delicate. She would become motionless or run away at the slightest sound or swift movement. However, several weeks have passed, and Rue has undergone a remarkable transformation. She has emerged as a bold and self-assured kitten. At present, she is unrecognizable from her former self.
When it comes to snoozing, Rue’s preferred spot is a cozy basket filled with blankets. Without any hesitation, she’ll curl up in it and doze off effortlessly.
She takes pleasure in running around the house, causing mischief and chaos alongside her fellow foster kittens. When she comes across a tiny plaything, she promptly paws or tackles it with her newfound feline attitude.
Rue and Ari, the lovely tuxedo duo, love to bask in the sun. It’s one of their favorite pastimes, and they’re quite skilled at finding the perfect spot for sunbathing in the house. Recently, they’ve taken to snuggling up together, holding paws as they soak up the warm rays of sunlight. It’s a heartwarming sight that brings a smile to anyone who sees it.
Rue, the once shy kitten, has now transformed into a bold and adventurous one. Her days of hiding are long gone as she now enjoys racing around the house with her fellow furry pals, proudly flaunting her tail in excitement. As shared by Nadija, Rue’s owner, she has become quite the affectionate cuddle buddy on the couch while still maintaining her playful nature. Witnessing Rue’s newfound confidence and carefree spirit is truly heartwarming, especially considering the difficult start she had.
