An hour before his demise, a pit bull was saved from the brink of death. Luckily, the pooch is now out of harm’s way, but it was a close call.
The poor pup was severely underfed and restrained until he found a way to escape from the situation. He then went over to the house next door on Pike Road in Alabama.
According to Laura Baumgardner, the president of pAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving), the owners treated the dog as if it was nothing more than an object to be thrown away.
Meet Truman, a cute little pup who seems to be around three years old. He’s supposed to weigh 75 pounds, but unfortunately, he’s only 44 pounds at the moment. Dr. Mickey Golden, Truman’s veterinarian, suspects that he’s been deprived of food for quite some time now.
The p.A.W.S. of Alabama Facebook page recently shared an update on Truman, a dog who is currently undergoing treatment for a severe worm infestation. Despite still having a ways to go in his recovery, the post expressed excitement and gratitude for the progress Truman has shown so far. The initial state of Truman’s health was concerning, with the dog appearing barely alive and unable to hold up his own head during his examination.
In Alabama, it is considered a criminal offense to mistreat pets. As of now, there is no update on the costs or issues regarding this matter. However, the plan is for Truman to eventually find a loving home through adoption.
